NEWLIFE AFH was founded on a simple idea: that older adults deserve to age in a place that feels like a home — not a hallway. We are a state-licensed adult family home in Tumwater, Washington, serving up to six residents at a time.
Our small size is intentional. It lets us pay attention to the details that matter — a favorite morning routine, a preferred chair by the window, a quiet evening with familiar music. We believe that good care begins with knowing the people we serve as individuals.
Every resident at NEWLIFE is supported in four ways:
Mornings begin gently — residents wake on their own schedule and are supported with bathing, dressing, and breakfast. The middle of the day brings light activity, time outside in the garden when weather allows, and a home-cooked lunch shared together. Afternoons are flexible — visits, naps, hobbies, or a quiet hour with a book. Evenings are calm, with dinner, medication, and time to wind down.
For residents with dementia, we hold these rhythms steady. Predictable routines and a quiet environment help reduce confusion and anxiety.
NEWLIFE AFH is owner-operated, which means the person responsible for the home is the same person you will meet on day one — and the same person who will pick up the phone when you call. This is not a corporate facility; it is a small, deeply local family business.
The best way to understand NEWLIFE AFH is to walk through the door. Tours can be scheduled in person or virtually.
